IMTEX 23 being staged in Bengaluru, starting 19th Jan
IMTEX is a platform for manufacturing sector to experience latest technologies & solutions in machine tool and manufacturing technologies through live displays, enabling them to adopt these technologies and upgrade their factories/facilities with advanced and high precision machines and equipment for addressing global demands, says Ravi Raghavan, President, IMTMA in an interaction with MACHINE TOOLS WORLD. Excerpts:
Q. Post-Covid, this is the first time you are staging IMTEX with TOOLTECH. Could you gauge the sentiments and the expectations of the industry?
Indian machine tool industry is eager to showcase its products, solutions, and innovations, meet and network with peers, customers, vendors, both national and international. The industry has built special machines for this edition of IMTEX which is coming back as a physical one after a gap of 4 years.
For giving a thrust to digital manufacturing, we are having Digital Manufacturing as a concurrent show wherein companies will showcase their products and technologies. The International Seminar on Manufacturing Technologies (ISMT 2023) happening on 18th January, one day before the inauguration of IMTEX 2023 will have experts discussing some of these technologies. More than 100 trade delegations are expected to visit the show which features more than 850 exhibitors from 21 countries. All preparations are happening at a fast pace to welcome all stakeholders to the show.
Q. What are the latest trends in machine tools and metalworking that IMTEX 23 is going to showcase?
Exhibitors from across the world will showcase new products such as smart and intelligent machines, high-precision, high performance, multi-tasking, hybrid machines and special purpose machines, robots, cobots, AGVs, tools, accessories, manufacturing software, 3D Printers, 3D printing solutions, evolving Industry 4.0 hardware, software, customised solutions, and so on.
Q. What’s the head count of participants? How many exhibitors are there from overseas? Which are the prominent countries taking part?
In an exhibition space of around 77,000 square metres in 5 halls we have 850+ exhibitors from 23 countries of which close to 240 exhibitors are from overseas. Exhibitors from Australia, Austria, China, Czech Republic, France, Germany, India, Israel, Italy, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Netherlands, Poland, Serbia, Singapore, Slovania, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, UK,and USA. are participating in the show. We have group participation from China, Germany, Korea, Spain, Taiwan, and USA.
Q. What are the key takeaways of the manufacturing sector from this mega technology event? What’s in it for the MSMEs & the start-ups?
Indian manufacturing sector is poised for a robust growth with growing demands from domestic and international markets. IMTEX is a platform for manufacturing sector to experience latest technologies and solutions in machine tool and manufacturing technologies through live displays, enabling them to adopt these technologies and upgrade their factories/facilities with advanced and high precision machines and equipment for addressing global demands.
Many MSMEs and start-ups are participating in IMTEX 2023 to advance their manufacturing to the next level. As IMTEX attracts a large number of visitors from across various industries from India and overseas, MSMEs and start-ups get a significant opportunity to showcase their innovative and latest technologies during the exhibition. Their prime focus and target is to meet and develop their business with new user industry customers visiting IMTEX 2023.
