Coimbatore, June 2026
As INTEC 2026 concluded at the CODISSIA Trade Fair Complex, one observation stood out across the exhibition floor: Indian manufacturers are no longer talking about technology for the sake of technology. They’re looking for solutions that deliver measurable results.
Over five days, the exhibition brought together machine tool builders, automation companies, robotics providers, component manufacturers, software developers, and thousands of manufacturing professionals from across the country. While the technologies on display varied widely, many of the conversations revolved around a common objective, improving productivity without compromising quality or competitiveness.
Another thing you couldn’t miss: people want automation that actually solves practical issues, not just shiny, futuristic factories with nobody inside. Most of the folks I chatted with weren’t dreaming of fully-autonomous plants. They wanted technology that clears out bottlenecks, keeps machines busy, cuts cycle times, and makes up for worker shortages.
All those engineering companies, machine tool makers, and automation providers crowding the aisles? They show that India’s manufacturing world is getting serious about new technology, fast.
For the Machine Tools World team, INTEC 2026 was the perfect spot to meet industry leaders and tech specialists who are shaking things up. At the MTW stall, the conversations were lively, visitors talked about everything from perfecting precision engineering and the impact of digital manufacturing, to finding and training skilled workers, improving export game, and using tech to boost everyday efficiency. There’s a real sense of momentum here.
The response to the INTEC 2026 Special Supplement was equally encouraging. The publication served as a platform for sharing industry knowledge, technology insights, expert interviews, and real-world manufacturing experiences with visitors from across the engineering ecosystem.
One of the memorable moments during the exhibition was meeting Mr. Natheem, National Head – Metalworking Division, Molygraph Lubricants, who features on the cover of the latest issue of Machine Tools World. Conversations like these reinforce the importance of industry knowledge-sharing and the role that specialized media continues to play in connecting technology providers with end users.
What made this edition of INTEC particularly interesting was the optimism visible across the exhibition floor. Despite challenges faced by manufacturers globally, businesses continue to invest in technology, process improvements, and capability building.
That confidence was reflected not only in the solutions on display but also in the conversations taking place between exhibitors and visitors.
