Highlight the current landscape and growth prospects of machine tools industry in India.

Indian Machine Tools Industry is in the midst of interesting times and is strengthening its position in the global market. Many tier-1 and tier-2 manufacturers are looking for better and sturdier/ reliable machines. Today, demand is high for proven equipment, which can produce quality parts rapidly. The long-standing notion of cost per piece calculation as the deciding factor for the cost of machine is fast disappearing.

The manufacturers are realizing that up-time of machine, better tool cost, long lasting peripherals, tooling etc. with better man machine management are the key metrics that can help keep cost and quality under control and ensure better delivery schedule. Given the focus on efficiency and quality, Indian component manufacturers are adopting better technologies, materials and machinery to improve the quality to international standards. This is proving an enormous opportunity to export the parts, which is giving further boost to the Indian industry. As the demand continues to grow, the country is slated to see advanced machine tool manufacturing. JUNKER has been implemented in India for the last 10 years and is pleased to contribute with its high precision grinding machines to the development of India.

Industry 4.0 and smart manufacturing are fast gaining momentum world over. Indian industry is no exception to this global trend, which is poised to see faster acceptance in the coming years. There are plenty of Industry 4.0 use cases related to predictive maintenance, which is empowering manufacturing companies to prevent asset failure and increase operational efficiency. However, the entire process from raw material to finish product needs to be reliable to implement Industry 4.0 and realize its benefits. Systems and machines must be incorporated into a never-seen-before network of all company departments, with ultimate flexibility. The JUNKER Group has experience in how to efficiently collect and analyze data so that it can be called up for many applications and various different systems: a huge challenge, which the traditional company has been tackling with success for many years now.

JUNKER is committed to help Indian industry in its Industry 4.0 journey and our machines are already equipped with software in line with Industry 4.0.

What is your vision for your company (in terms of new product launch, innovation/collaborations)? How do you see your brand growing by 2020?
