Q. 2018 proved to be quite challenging year for many companies in the metal industry. What about Faccin?
Results in 2018 are evidencing that we are on the path of becoming a greater power in the International Metal Forming Industry. After a period of consolidation in 2017 as a group of companies, each delivering high quality products, we have been able to amalgamate every brand’s strengths and synergies into one single force. Now customers can have access to an even wider range of well-renowned products and tailored solutions with just one single call.
We can also add that during this year, particularly the last quarter, we have been able to concretize very high value deals, delivering heavy-duty machines chosen because of its high performances and tight tolerances.
We look forward to having a very bright 2019 for our Group as well.
Q. You mention 2019. How will 2019 look for the metal industry?
There will be an increasing demand for fabricated metal products and therefore for metal forming machines.
We believe that markets like India and China will drive the demand of the forming metal market, looking to improving the quality of their equipment, its precision and automation due to the volatility of the steel market and the difficulty to find experienced operators.
Countries like Mexico, Russia will be significant players as well due to their infrastructural evolutions that in turn drive the metal forming Industry.
Q. You mentioned precision and automation. How do you address these issues?
It has been always our aim to provide metal fabricators with equipment of the highest quality, powerful, technologically advanced but above all precise.
With the current situation and volatility in the steel prices, precision is necessary to avoid material waste and to keep productivity margins.
Our Group has always been at the forefront in term of technological advances, particularly in the automation of the forming process. Our machines with CNC are the solution for fabricators who want to stay competitive at the time when there is a lack of experienced operators; CNC automation decreases the human interaction with the machine and fastens the learning curve of new workers.
Q. Are you launching any new products in 2019? When will we see them?
Our R&D department is responsible for the new and continued development of our products and technologies, part of which are now in prototype stage and ready to be in the market in Q1 2019. We display our technology at various trade shows around the globe. Our first trade show will be SteelFab in the UAE where we will highlight the latest trend in metal forming machines.
