With large volume and high customer base IPOL can boast of one of the leading supplier of lubricants and its long lasting relationship with the customers speaks about the product performance and service

With rapid Industrialization and urbanization there has been a need for high speed transport systems to cater to the growing demands of these urban centres. We have seen the advent of Multi axle commercial vehicles and high speed passenger vehicles, highly efficient consumer durables and in all these gears play a prominent role for their peak performance.

Demand for gears is projected to rise 6.0 percent per annum through 2019, driven by healthy advances in motor vehicle and other consumer durable goods. In the automotive market, a shift towards precise, energy-efficient units, such as seven- and eight-speed automatic transmissions, will contribute to value gains. Additionally, sales of gears used in a number of relatively small but fast-growing applications, such as wind and solar power, are expected to increase significantly.

The company’s products are used by some of the major gear manufacturer’s in India like Premium transmission, Gajra Gears, Bharat Gears, Sanjeev Auto, VE Commercial, Atlas Fairfield in their wide variety of machines being manufactured by Liebherr, Gleason, Reishauer, PFauter etc.

A gear is a rotating part containing teeth, which forms a mesh with another toothed machine part or gear and transmits torque. The gears can change torque, speed and direction of the power source. Gears are of various types, including spur gear, bevel gear, planetary gear, helical gear, rack and pinion, and others. An automatic transmission is a type of motor vehicle transmission that can automatically change gear ratios as the vehicle moves, which prevent the driver from shifting the gears manually. Increasing demand for automatic transmission in vehicles is one of the growing trends witnessed in the automotive industry, which has increased the demand of the automotive gears due to its automatic function that provides ease in driving of vehicle.

The manufacturing process for gears consists of various steps before the gear is finally shipped for usage. In all these processes lubricants play a important role be it enhancing the productivity, shape of the gear, final finish and surface indentation. The various processes and IPOL offer are listed below.

Forging- The first step is to obtain the blank shape according to the size of gear to be manufactured by way of forging or extrusion. IPOL has a range of Hydraulic oils to be offered to these high load forging/extrusion machines. IPOL Hydropac AW series/IPOL Hydropac Premium series in various viscometrics.

Gear Hobbing/Gear Forming– In Hobbing gear teeth are progressively generated by a series of cuts with a helical cutting tool. All motions in hobbing are rotary, and the hob and gear blank rotate continuously as in two gears meshing until all teeth are cut. In forming the cutting edge of the cutting tool has a shape identical with the shape of the space between the gear teeth. We at IPOL have a variety of products to offer depending upon the speed, load, size and severity of operations.

    • IPOL ST Cut 55/IPOL BR 103 X- Widely used product across the industry for their versatility to suit various operations.
    • IPOL Enhanco NC 101- High Performance with superior EP properties and weld load to cater to the demand of large size of gears being machined.
    • IPOL Multikut HSM 32- This product is designed for new generation machines to suit the high speed and high load application.

Gear Shaving/Gear Grinding- This is done to improve the surface finish and dimensional accuracy of the gear produced. Gear Shaving/grinding oil should have high oxidation stability and should be able to disperse the fine powder generated.

    • IPOL Multikut HSM 10/22 is our offering for this operation. These are manufactured from high quality super refined base oils and are chlorine free.

Broaching- This process is used to produce gear teeth and is particularly applicable to internal teeth. The process is rapid and produces fine surface finish with high dimensional accuracy.
IPOL Broaching Oil No. 1 is the stand out product in the market and is being used by major customers in the market and approved by OEM’s.

After the desired shape and surface is given these are then treated for increase the strength and surface indentation. The process is ancient old process “Quenching”. In IPOL we have a range of quenching oils to offer depending upon the size, metallurgy and process involved.

    • IPOL Quenching Oil 32 XL- Normal speed quenching oil for multiple applications
    • IPOL Quenching Oil 22 XFQ- Medium fast quenching oils for small gear size where core hardness in not required.
    • IPOL Enhanco Quench MF 200- Fast oils fortified with high speed actuators and wetting properties for big size gears for imparting core hardness.
    • IPOL Enahnco Quench H 301- Hot Quenching oils preferred in seal quench furnaces for better distortion control.

Crack Detection- Detecting the cracks in the gears produced is one of the quality testing procedure.
IPOL LTM 105 is the carrier oil for magna flux machines for crack detection.

Rust Prevention- Before shipping these gears are to protected with a coating to prevent from rusting during transportation or final usage. IPOL RBSB 101 gives superior coating of dry film for long storage.

All the above products are being used by some of the major Gear Manufacturer’s in India like Premium transmission, Gajra Gears, Bharat Gears, Sanjeev Auto, VE Commercial, Atlas Fairfield in their wide variety of machines being manufactured by Liebherr, Gleason, Reishauer, PFauter etc.

With large volume and high customer base IPOL can boast of one of the leading supplier of Lubricants in this category and our long lasting relationship with the customers speaks about the product performance and service.
