Chakan, Pune | February 2, 2026: LMT Tools India Pvt. Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of the Germany-based LMT Group and a global leader in precision tool manufacturing, has inaugurated the expansion of its state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Chakan, Pune. With this expansion, the company has established India’s largest gear cutting tool manufacturing plant, marking a major milestone in its growth journey in the region.
The newly commissioned facility enhances LMT Tools India’s manufacturing capacity by 60 per cent, underlining the company’s long-term commitment to high-precision engineering and advanced manufacturing. Equipped with next-generation production technologies and future-ready infrastructure, the expanded plant is designed to meet the rapidly rising demand for high-performance cutting tools from both domestic and international markets.
With this strategic expansion, the Chakan facility has been transformed into a key global manufacturing hub for the LMT Group. In addition to serving the Indian market, it will support global supply chains by exporting precision tools to international customers. The facility will cater to a wide spectrum of industries, including automotive, aerospace, railways, wind energy, die and mould, and general engineering.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by senior leadership from across the LMT Group. Dignitaries present included Oliver Thomas, Managing Director of the LMT Group and CEO of LMT Tools; Ramakant Reddy, Managing Director of LMT Tools India; Carsten Storm, Chief Financial Officer of LMT Tools; and Raphael Lienau, Managing Director of LMT Fette. The event also witnessed the presence of a large number of customers, industry partners, vendors, and service providers, highlighting the company’s strong and collaborative ecosystem in India.
