Q. Please brief NEWCPL’s journey from the inception & share some its milestones?
We have been selling EDM wires for the past 22 Years under the EDM Division of Nickunj Eximp Entp P Ltd, Flagship Company of the Nickunj Group. Nickunj EDM Wires & Consumables P Ltd was born out of the expansion opportunities to expand the EDM business vertical as an SBU and the confidence reposed by our customers and our principals alike in our ability, capability and expertise to cater to the ever expanding requirements of the industry. First manufacturing unit was commissioned in Baddi in 2007 followed by 2nd unit at Umbergaon in 2011. Today, NEWCPL is the single largest producer of EDM wires in India.
Q. Please brief us about company’s global reach & what are the global alliances that has been made in order to out-front the competition?
We have been representing M/s Berkenhoff GmbH, Germany for more than 20 years and marketing their wires successfully in India. These wires complement the range of wires manufactured at our plants in Baddi & Umbergaon. In addition, tie-up with Heinrich Stamm GmbH, another renowned manufacturer has helped us offer a wide and technologically proven product range to out-front the competition.
Q. What are the market prospects for NEWCPL products in India and How do you plan to position these products?
So far, the major market was for plain brass edm wires. However, we have successfully changed this trend and substituted plain wires with high end specially treated wires indigenously developed and manufactured by us.
Q. Can you brief us about the marketing strategies applied in order to position yourself as a market leader.

We have invested in in-house R&D facility, engaged the expertise from industry professionals to develop wires to meet the specific needs of the customers.
Q. How is NEWCPL supporting the Indian manufacturing industry in becoming globally competitive?
Our locally developed product matches performance of best of global products. This allows our customers to compete with the global giants using locally produced wires. We have successfully developed wires for optimum performance on all imported EDM machines with cost reductions in input wires as compared to imported wires

India’s manufacturing sector has evolved considerably. It is currently in the phase of global competitiveness. It is transforming into formidable global competitors, ably complemented by tech-savvy & educated population and skilled labour. Many are already amongst the most competitive in their sectors. India today, is on the threshold of major tax reforms and poised to be the third largest economy in the world by 2030.

To grow from being Numero uno in the domestic market to a Global Numero Uno EDM Wire brand in the global arena.
