LMT Tools is a leading expert in the development & production of precision tools. LMT Tools combines its competencies in the brands LMT Fette, LMT Kieninger, LMT Onsrud and LMT Belin. Our production sites are in Germany, USA, China and India. Our Milling & Threading, Rolling Systems, Reaming, Gear Cutting and Advanced Tools offers the highest quality and performance for metal cutting and forming applications in various industries, like automotive, aerospace, die and mold, general machining and energy.
Pune is our production site in India, where we have production facility for Hobs & SC End Mills with the Center of Competence for Gear Cutting, Milling & Tapping, Thread rolling and Advanced tools. We have investment plans in our existing manufacturing facility making it more competent for round tools, hobs, and coating technology. All our engineers are trained in Germany. We cater to the export demand for Gear hobs, SC End Mills. Our Indian manufacturing facility has been recognized with ‘Star Performer Award’ for highest export.
Q. What are your top-of-the-line products? Any plans to launch new products?
The company’s main product application areas are milling, threading, reaming, rolling, gear cutting and automotive critical machining. We provide perfect tool solutions for the dynamic machining processes ensuring quality, performance, economy, and process reliability.
Our product range includes End Mills, Indexable inserts, taps, thread rolling systems, gear cutting hobs, reamers, routers, tooling systems along with advanced tools like Line Boring bars, Fine Boring systems, Motion Tools, PCD tools, Valve Seat and Valve Guide Tools, Cylinder Boring tools with auto compensation, CVJ Milling Tools and many more.
Recently we have launched our GearSkiving tools for internal and external gear profiles, our high performer for trochoidal milling CARBLoop, and our brand new EVOline rolling system T3.18 EVO, which is a further development with additional advantages. With high level of innovation of LMT Tools, the company is constantly developing new machining solutions with a clear customer focus.
Q. Any further expansion plans in the anvil?
We are expanding our manufacturing base in India. We have started with Gear hobs manufacturing facility at Pune in 2011. The same is now equipped and expanded to produce SC End Mills. Furthermore, we are investing additional INR 50 Cr into the same facility for capacity expansion. LMT Group will preferably consider investment in India by adding up new product lines which in turn will be export hub for global market.
Q. What are the market opportunities for your products in India? And how do you plan to position them?

Q. What are the latest trends we witness in the cutting tools space?
Advancements in cutting tool technology & innovations are driven by demand and challenges industry is facing. These advancements are pushing the cutting tool industry forward at a rapid pace. Industry trends in the coming years are likely to focus on inclusion of smart features and intelligent tools, and tooling solution for e-mobility. In keeping with these new trends in the cutting tool industry, we have taken a step forward and put in place our intelligent tool systems which replace manual adjustments of the tools. They enable the compensation of the cutting edges within the production machines. While the tools are in idle time, a micro-meter (μm) accurate compensation can be performed via appropriate remote control. This unique capability increases productive spindle running time and eliminates productivity losses in production. As OEMs continue to evolve, we will witness the technological transformation and the cutting tools industry will lead the way.

Like all other businesses, with the recent developments in the global market we also witness raw material shortage, extended waiting time along with the high price rise at various levels. This disrupted supply chain impacts the ease of doing business in various dimensions. considering it as a part of business and spearheading the challenges all our teams working in synergy with a specific strategy to counter all given challenges.
