The demand for automation solutions in the cutting tool industry is on the rise. From addressing skills gaps to reducing labour costs, while offering improved flexibility and quality – the benefits are significant. Manufacturers are looking to maximise asset utilisation to enable their operations to be 24/7 – for lights out manufacturing. Increased automation reduces production costs, improves product quality, and boosts productivity.

ANCA’s latest technology innovation, ANCA Integrated Manufacturing System (AIMS) was launched virtually during the pandemic to our global customers. AIMS offers streamlined manufacturing, with connected tool production processes that are integrated to existing IT systems. It is a solution that can take tool production to the next level with smart automation delivering connected tool production processes. For complete tool production, ANCA’s new AutoMarkX offers automated laser tool marking. Designed for cutting tool manufacturers, this machine can integrate with AIMS and takes away the need for manual handling.  A fully automated solution is the end game—start with a rod and finish with a packaged and labelled tool.

AIMS is a flexible, modular system that can be tailored to manufacturers’ needs. AIMS can start with a smaller scale data-based option and can be extended to a complete setup across multiple machines or sites. AIMS has a suite of “auto” solutions for reducing production costs and integrating systems.

An interconnected system eliminates wasteful manual handling, reduces machine downtime between batches and removes the need to have operators constantly monitoring and adjusting production machines. Operators are freed from simple manual tasks and can focus on other value-adding activities. Many manufacturing challenges coming from the pandemic can be solved with automation solutions. Automating manual production processes enables productivity while operators are offsite or social distancing.Online webinars and on-demand demonstrations are available to showcase the benefits of this new era of automation to customers wherever they are.
