The Pune-based Sunlube Group manufactures a variety of die lubricants, plunger lubes & graphite beads for forging & casting industry. Their 4455 series of high performance wax-free die lubricants are some of the best available die lubes in the market and being used by well-known casting companies in India. Over the years, the company has expanded its portfolio to cover a wide spectrum of products to cater to casting and forging industry. The group also offers Patented Process Technology of Polymer Based Oil-free rust preventives, discovers Machine Tools World in an interview with Sandeep Gaikwad, Managing Director, Sunlube Group. Excerpts:
Q. How would you introduce SND Pro and its activities?
SND Pro Specialities is the Marketing Division of the Sunlube Group. SND plays a pivotal role in marketing the products manufactured by the group companies Sunlub Technologies, Korealube Co. Ltd. and Dimple Chemicals Pvt. Ltd.
It all started in 2012 when Sunlube Group’s core manufacturing firm Sunlub Technologies commenced production. Despite limited resources and unlimited obstacles, the passionate team forged ahead and gave a sound footing to the enterprise. Within a couple of years, Sunlub Technologies increased its share in the market of forging die lubricants significantly
With a vision to become the most preferred source in the field of oils & lubricants for forging & casting industry, Sunlube decided to expand strategically. Maintaining its own indigenous manufacturing facility, Sunlube struck a technology JV with Korealube Co.Ltd., South Korea to manufacture speciality high performance forging lubricants. This helped Sunlube to tackle all possible requirements of forging customers – from ‘low price low performance’ to ‘high price high performance’.
With help of Korealube, High performance Non-graphite (White) forging die lubricant became the super strength of Sunlube.
Q. How did you consolidate your position further?
As a manufacturer, Sunlube did not limit itself to forging lubricants alone. With the help of German technology, Sunlube developed a complete range of high performance wax- free die coats for the casting industry. This die coat soon proved to be one of the best performing die coats in India.
While forging & casting die lubricants are the mainstay, Sunlube recently added a variety of greases, speciality cutting oils, fire resistant hydraulic oil, and polymer based rust preventives into its sales basket.
This way Sunlube is now fully geared to become the most reliable and single source of oils & lubricants for the forging & casting
industry
Q. What are your offerings for the forging industry?
SND Pro is offering a complete range of lubricants for hot, warm & cold forging segments. The range of water based & oil based hot forging lubricants, further subcategorised into with or without graphite, is our core strength. We can provide die lubricant solutions to hammer forging, press forging, ring rolling, multi-station fast forging, hollow forging, precision gear forging and many other forging applications
We have proven case studies of cost savings through high dilution ratios, improved die life, and lowest per tonnage / piece costings. Different grades of die lubricants are available as per application & metallurgy. SND Pro is offering all these products though their own manufacturing unit Sunlub Technologies-India and from Korealube Co. Ltd., South Korea
Q. What are the different casting lubricants you offer?
SND Pro is offering complete range of high performance wax free die coat, plunger lubes, black die coats & graphite beads for Pressure Die Casting applications. Other products we offer are die coats & riser paste for GDC applications. SND Pro is offering all these products from their own manufacturing unit, Sunlub Technologies, India
Q. You also offer a range of Rust Preventives. Could you elaborate?
It is an organic polymer that converts unwanted substrate on metal surface into a docile form. The patented process technology protects metal surface from environmental donors as well as bi-metallic bio & embedded corrosion. It’s an aniti-static, non-oily, water repellent & biodegradable product. The patented process technology product is manufactured by Dimple Chemicals Pvt.. Ltd. In this case, SND Pro Specialities are their sole sales partner globally.
Q. Do you also offer Hydraulic Oils?
Yes, we do offer fire resistant hydraulic oils. This is a specially formulated product range for an add-on service, especially to the casting segment. The salient features and advantages of these products are:
