Zyfra, Finnish-Russian industrial digitalization leader, has developed predictive analytics solution powered by machine learning to enhance the capabilities of metalworking machines by detecting anomalies in technological process and identifying their possible cause. ZyfraPdA solution analyses the real-time data from CNC machines, alerts users whenever an anomaly emerges, and indicates the possible cause while giving recommendations for further actions. The system classifies a range of anomalies like tool quality, operator error in case of incorrect operating modes selection and machine failure. “Manufacturers of large-dimensioned products made of expensive materials face a detect defection problem. Defects are caused by many factors such…

Radbend is the market leading solution in offline programming for press brakes. Completely integrated with RADAN3D along with SolidWorks & Autodesk Inventor providing full 3D simulation of the bending process. Utilising either 2D or 3D geometry, Radbend automates the sequence of operations typically done manually at sheet metal manufacturing facilities. Radbend is the answer to typical issues that manufacturers have in their bending applications like full collision checking which ensures costly errors are eliminated prior to production, thus providing a “right first time” manufacturing approach.
Kennametal has introduced an expansion of its solid carbide drilling portfolio, the HPX drill for high performance, large volume drilling in steel. Designed to quickly and efficiently punch holes up to 8 x D in any ISO-P steel material, the HPX drill provides up to twice the tool life and three times the productivity compared to competing products, even in dry or minimum quantity lubrication (MQL) applications. What makes the HPX drill the superior choice for Steel applications is its design. Steels are used for a wide variety of applications, often in production volumes where maximum tool life and throughput…

Let’s benefit from streamlining systems and processes. Focus on your speciality and leverage the tech that’s already out there. Grind the wheel, don’t reinvent it. Industrial automation is changing the way cutting tool manufacturers operate. Machines have taken on the heavy lifting at each stage of production letting workers get on with less repetitive tasks. And while automation may sound costly and complex to implement, it’s not reserved just for big businesses. There are dozens of ways a small cutting tool manufacturer can embrace automation for a more efficient and more innovative factory. Benefits of industrial automation Cost reduction, through…
In aeroplanes, cars, trains or furniture construction, it is not only the durability of the components that is important, but above all their lightweight property and quick assembly. igus has now developed a polymer telescopic guide completely made of high-performance polymers. With the drylin NT series, igus already successfully carries telescopic guides made of aluminium and polymer, which glide smoothly and evenly due to the use of tribologically optimised high-performance polymers, in its range. However, every gram counts in seat adjustments or drawers in aircraft and cars. “We have now developed the first telescopic guide completely made of high-performance polymer.…
