Recovering demand and post–Canton Fair timing draw global buyers; Australian firefighters to open the show with Taiwan-made tools
TAICHUNG, Taiwan, October 15, 2026 — The 2026 Taiwan International Tools & Hardware Expo x International Hardware Expo Taiwan (TiTE x IHT) will take place October 20–22 at the Taichung International Convention & Exhibition Center (TICEC). Organized by the Taiwan Hand Tool Manufacturers’ Association and Lanza International Co., Ltd., this year’s edition brings together 450 exhibitors across more than 1,000 booths under the theme “TEAM TAIWAN: From Manufacturing to Co-Creation | AI Empowerment & Smart Upgrading,” focusing on smart manufacturing, global distribution channels and Taiwan’s industrial clusters.
More than 100 hosted international buyers, a show record, will attend, along with over 25 international trade media outlets. Terutaka Takeda, Vice Chairperson of the Japan DIY-HC Association, will lead a delegation to the show, and Australian firefighters will open the event holding Taiwan-made tools, underscoring the role of reliable tools in disaster resilience.
Recovering Demand Drives a Record Hosted Buyer Program
With the Taiwan–U.S. reciprocal trade agreement signed in February easing tariff uncertainty, international orders are steadily recovering. Held immediately after the autumn session of the Canton Fair, TiTE x IHT allows buyers already sourcing in Asia to add Taichung to their itineraries.
To capture new sourcing demand from supply chain realignment, the organizers promoted the show this year at International Hardware Fair Cologne, the Global DIY-Summit in Amsterdam, Automechanika Frankfurt, the JAPAN DIY HOMECENTER SHOW, the China International Hardware Show in Shanghai and Automechanika Ho Chi Minh City, inviting retailers, brand owners and importers face to face.
Hosted buyers come from five continents, led by North America, followed by Germany, Japan and emerging markets in Southeast Asia, India, the Middle East and Latin America. This year’s invitations extend to the sourcing organizations of global tool brands including Stanley Black & Decker, Snap-on, Würth, KTC and TONE, and of home improvement retailers such as Leroy Merlin, Kingfisher, OBI, Hornbach, Ace Hardware and HomePro.
Last year’s show attracted more than 500 international buyers from 70 countries. With a record hosted buyer program focused on decision-makers at brands, retailers and importers, international attendance is expected to reach a new high.
On October 19, the day before opening, a sourcing meeting organized by Taiwan’s International Trade Administration and implemented by TAITRA will connect nearly 60 international buyers with Taiwanese suppliers in one-on-one meetings. Buyers can visit TiTE x IHT the following day and tour nearby factories, completing meetings, show visits and factory audits in a single trip.

Smart Manufacturing: From Hand Tools to Industrial Applications
This year’s exhibits extend well into smart manufacturing and industrial applications, from digital torque tools, automated warehousing and testing and calibration equipment to aerospace-grade special alloys for high-end applications. The show also continues with its ISO 14067 product carbon footprint certified green exhibition standard, in line with international sustainability practices.
Pre-registered domestic buyers span semiconductor facilities, aerospace, rail maintenance, steel and retail, showing how demand for hardware and tools is expanding from traditional distribution into high-tech facility operations and equipment maintenance.
Taiwan–Japan Reciprocal Show Exchange Opens Doors to Home Improvement Retail
Building on last year’s exchange with Japan’s Tsubame-Sanjo metalworking region, Taiwan–Japan cooperation reaches a new level this year. The Taiwan Hand Tool Manufacturers’ Association and the Japan DIY-HC Association have established a reciprocal exchange between their shows, including promotional booths at each other’s events, buyer delegations and shared marketing resources.
Organized by the Japan DIY-HC Association, the JAPAN DIY HOMECENTER SHOW marks its 62nd edition this year and is Japan’s benchmark event for home improvement retail. In August, association board members and the TiTE x IHT team promoted the show in Japan. In October, Vice Chairperson Takeda will lead a return delegation to Taichung, attend the opening ceremony and deliver a keynote, opening a direct dialogue between Taiwanese manufacturers and Japanese home centers.

Australian Firefighters Open the Show with Taiwan-Made Tools
Disaster preparedness is a vital part of societal resilience. Cutting, prying, fastening, lighting and repair tools used in rescue operations are everyday products of the hardware and hand tool industry. In extreme heat, smoke and time pressure, tools cannot fail. That reliability depends on materials, forging, heat treatment and precision machining, the core capabilities central Taiwan’s hand tool cluster has built over decades.
At the opening ceremony, five firefighters from Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, representing the Australian Firefighters Calendar, will take the stage holding products from five Taiwanese manufacturers, demonstrating the reliability of Taiwan-made tools from the perspective of frontline users. The show spans eight zones covering tools and accessories, metalworking processes and equipment, fasteners, automotive repair and EV applications, plant equipment and industrial safety, gardening, agriculture and outdoor products, construction and home improvement, and smart manufacturing and automation, connecting Taiwan’s complete hardware supply chain.
Global Hardware Summit: Markets, Materials, AI and Decarbonization
The Global Hardware Summit, themed “TEAM TAIWAN: From Resilient Manufacturing to Smart Co-Creation,” runs October 20–21 with six sessions built around three questions facing the industry:
- Where is the next market? Vice Chairperson Takeda explains how Japanese home centers select products and partners. Professors Wu Kuang-Wen of Feng Chia University and Huang Shaio-Yan of National Chung Cheng University, together with Chen Hsien-Li, Chairman of Haoad Data, share how AI helps SMEs market globally and reach the right buyers.
- How can products deliver more value? Hsu Hsiao-Hung of China Steel Corporation discusses supply chain co-creation from materials to processes, upgrading upstream steel and downstream tools together.
- How can factories become smarter and lower-carbon? Dean Chi Hsin-Yi, Professor Yu Tsung-Lung of National Chung Hsing University and Dr. Hsieh Tsung-Hsun, General Manager of Taiwan Smart Green Technology, examine AI applications across Taiwanese industry. Professor Chang Wan-Jung of National Kaohsiung University of Science and Technology addresses AI-driven digital and green transformation, while Yu Tun-Ming of the ASE verification center explains how companies can strengthen their carbon competitiveness.
From market demand and upstream materials to smart manufacturing and carbon management, the six sessions map a complete path for industrial upgrading.
Rooted in Taichung’s Cluster, Building the Next TEAM TAIWAN
“With tariffs settled and orders recovering, Taiwan’s hardware industry is entering a new phase of growth,” said Alan Hsieh, Chairman of the Taiwan Hand Tool Manufacturers’ Association, and Andrew Liu, General Manager of Lanza International. “More than 100 international buyers and 25 international media outlets are coming to Taichung, and the Japan DIY-HC Association is leading a delegation in return. This recognition from global markets and international industry peers is rooted in Taichung’s industrial cluster, built over decades by generations of craftspeople and SMEs across materials, forging, heat treatment and precision machining. Last year, TEAM TAIWAN faced tariff challenges together. This year, we are co-developing the next generation of products with our international customers. Together with the government, we will build on this cluster and smart manufacturing to create the next TEAM TAIWAN.”
